Tymofiy Havryliv wurde 1971 in Ivano-Frankivs’k (Ukraine) geboren und lebt heute in Lviv. Er übersetzte u.a. Georg Trakl, Joseph Roth, Thomas Bernhard und Paul Celan ins Ukrainische. Er ist Dichter, Übersetzer, Herausgeber, Prosaschriftsteller und Philologe. Studienabschluß 1993, his first collection of poems, Arabesques of Memory (1995), was published in Kyiv and won the Blahovist prize for literature.
